My Wild Atlantic Kitchen

My Wild Atlantic Kitchen by Maura O'Connell Foley was the winner of the Gourmand International Best in the World Women Chef Cookbook 2021 & Printed Book Design 2021 IDI Award.

I was a member of the layout design team which was managed by Anchor Studio, Kenmare and drew all the spot lettering seen on the front cover & throughout the cook book.

Hand lettering speaks volumes. This is an art form which allows us to see the space between the letters, and the style of the lettering can deeply evoke emotions and bring meaning - nostalgia, happiness, joy and love. The lettering style used in Maura's book has a personal feel to it and it's intention is to give the impression that you are reading Maura's handwritten cooking notes and recipe books.
